Ride a camel through the Erg Chebbi dunes at sunset and spend a magical night in a traditional Berber camp under a star-studded sky. This immersive experience offers the perfect blend of culture, nature, and adventure – ideal for travelers seeking authentic moments in southern Morocco.

Your adventure begins in Marrakech, where we’ll pick you up directly from your accommodation. From there, we set off toward the stunning Dades Valley, crossing the dramatic Tizi n’Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, soak in breathtaking panoramic views, discover traditional Berber villages, and witness the landscape shift from lush valleys to arid desert terrain — a truly unforgettable start to your Morocco desert journey.
On the way, we’ll take a scenic detour to Ouarzazate, often called the “Gateway to the Sahara.” Here, you’ll visit the iconic Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a breathtaking earthen fortress and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. Film enthusiasts will recognize it from major productions like Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and The Mummy — it’s one of the most photogenic and historically rich sites in southern Morocco.
After lunch at a scenic kasbah, we’ll continue along the famous “Route of a Thousand Kasbahs”, offering countless photo opportunities of dramatic landscapes and traditional Berber life. Our journey takes us through Kalaat M'Gouna, known as the Valley of Roses, especially vibrant during the spring bloom.
We then arrive in the stunning Dades Valley, where you’ll marvel at the unique rock formations known as the “Monkey Fingers”. End the day with dinner and a peaceful overnight stay in a charming traditional riad nestled in the gorge

After breakfast in the Dades Valley, we’ll travel toward Tinghir and the scenic Todgha Valley, passing through traditional Berber villages built from stone and clay, perched above lush oases — perfect for breathtaking photo stops.
Todra Gorge Exploration
Upon arrival at the impressive Todra Gorge, we’ll take a walk along the base of its towering 300-meter red cliffs, a favorite among rock climbing enthusiasts from around the world. The dramatic scenery and cool air make this a refreshing stop on our journey.
Journey to Merzouga & Sahara Camel Ride
Continuing toward Erfoud, we’ll pause at key viewpoints and fossil workshops where locals extract ancient marine fossils — a glimpse into Morocco’s geological past.
By afternoon, we reach the gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes of Merzouga. There, your camel trek begins, guided by a local nomad, leading you through golden dunes as the sun sets over the Sahara.
The day ends with a magical night at a desert camp, complete with a traditional dinner, drumming around the campfire, and stargazing under the vast Saharan sky.

Merzouga – Sunrise Over the Dunes
Wake up early to witness a truly unforgettable Sahara sunrise — a magical moment as the first light paints the dunes in golden hues. After enjoying breakfast at the desert camp, we leave the sands of Merzouga behind.
Rissani – The Cradle of the Alaouite Dynasty
Our next stop is Rissani, once the powerful city of Sijilmassa, a vital trading post on the ancient trans-Saharan caravan routes. Known for its strong traditions, here you’ll see local men in djellabas and women in veils, giving you a deep cultural insight into southern Moroccan life.
Draa Valley & Ouarzazate via Tamnougalt & Agdz
The journey continues through Alnif and Tazzarine, stopping at the historic Kasbah of Tamnougalt and the oasis village of Agdz. We then follow the lush Draa Valley, lined with ancient Berber kasbahs and palm groves, offering stunning desert-oasis landscapes.
By evening, we arrive in Ouarzazate, where you’ll spend the night in a charming riad, reflecting on your journey through Morocco’s rich history and natural wonders.

Visit Kasbah Telouet: Explore the historic palace of the Glaoui family — known for its unique blend of Moroccan and Andalusian architecture.
Cinema Studios of Ouarzazate: Discover Africa’s Hollywood and see famous film sets where many international movies and series were filmed.
After the visits, continue driving through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, arriving in Marrakech by late afternoon/early evening.
We recommend packing comfortable clothes, sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, a jacket for chilly nights in the desert, and good walking shoes. If traveling in winter, bring warmer layers. You may also want a power bank, personal toiletries, and a scarf for the camel ride. All accommodations provide clean linens and basic amenities.
